Peter Biskind

Pete loves snow and loves to ski—it's a palpable passion. He’s been fortunate enough to guide, forecast, or patrol on six continents. He started his snow-safety career in Tahoe in 2007 as a ski patroller at Alpine Meadows, which led him to teach avalanche education courses and write public and private avalanche forecasts in Alaska, New Zealand, Japan, and Antarctica. Pete began international ski guiding in Japan in 2015 and continues to balance overseas ski trips with his childhood dream job of heli-ski guiding in Valdez, Alaska. When not on skis, Pete teaches swiftwater rescue, packrafting, whitewater paddling, and mountaineering. If there is ever an off-season, he seeks out family time, kitesurfing beaches, or is building his remote Alaskan hangar-home.
