We got in introduced to Mathys through a common friend, Micka, & we’re super excited that happened. Skiing soon after he started walking, Chamrousse, a tiny ski resort near Grenoble, offered a great starting point for skills development. Local club, led by freeski enthusiasts, sparked Mathys’ passion for gnarly lines & wild tricks.
Biography
Still very young, Mathys has accumulated tons of freeride skills until now. 5 years ago, this served him more than just alright – both Mathys and Micka spending as much time as possible ripping French terrains all over, it was inevitable the two meet. Excited to see what Mathys can do on his skis, Micka soon encouraged Mathys to take on freeride skiing professionally.
The duo started sharing more and more days on the skis & because of the rapid growth of the young skier, competitions were due. Soon after, surprisingly to everyone except Micka the mentor and Mathys the apprentice, he qualified for the FWT.
