The 3 ways to ThrowDown.

A couple of weeks back, we announced a sweet redesign feature for our 25/26 ThrowDown model line. Along with a fresh stock of two out of four widths, it sparked quite a debate on which TD to grab for what purpose.

Inside the DNA of every TD model version is a poplar wood core with a full-length carbon stringer—these two elements define their signature whippy character, which they bring to every playground you take them to.

But … the TD family consists of four members—three of them are currently ready to be delivered fresh to your porch, while the last one, the fat boy, TD125, will be making its return sooner than you’d think.

Inspecting our inboxes closely, this doesn’t seem like an easy call—so today, we’re taking a look at which TD belongs under your feet, depending on the kind of throwing down you’re about to do.

#1: TD89 - PARK UNTIL IT'S DARK.

The narrowest member of the fam is straightforward in love with the park – anything from huge kickers, transfers, rails or even pipe, its size makes it an ideal tool for any challenge requiring agility. And, together with its perfectly symmetrical shape (mounting recommended at the true center), it truly doesn’t matter how you prefer to tackle life’s obstacles – regular or switch, both work great.

This seems accurate.

#2: TD99 - MADE FOR THE PARK, BUT CAN DIP IN POW FOR AN EXTRA SPARK.

Adding just a bit of width & going a bit back with the mounting, it won’t take much of the park capacities away from TD99. Still nimble & reactive, it just loves a good day in the park. We won’t lie – it’s smaller bro takes it out on a slopestyle course, but he, who laughs last, laughs best; on a fresh snow day, the TD99, with a lil of that allmountain freestyle vibe, “surfs the wave” with a bit more ease and style.

Sounds like me.

#3: TD105 - AN OCCASIONAL KICKER, BUT MORE OF A CLIFF-LINE PICKER.

The freestyle allmountain vibe by some extra width is stronger with this one, as the TD105 leans more into the flowy feels you’re looking for while riding the pow-pow. By copycatting the 99’s mounting spot, it’ll help you lean back and relax while embarking on a full day of knee-deep turns. But before you call it a day & head out, check if there’s a park nearby – the 105 still spins oh-so-nicely.😉

Something I’d do.

Time to Make the Call

Now that you’ve met the three brothers, who are currently available to throw it down, you’ll be faced with the question no mother wants to hear – who’s your favorite? We listen, but we don’t judge! Not only that, we’ll be there to support you. Combined with the superior product value our business model secures for you (DTC forever, let’s #getmore!), we have two equally hot options ready—fresh stock just landed for 3 out of 4 TDs, all of'em including the new minicap.

  1. Take another look at the TDs at the bottom – no matter your choice, there’s a cool price waiting for you.
  2. Hop into our outlet, where some B-Grade TDs are waiting for you.

Get me to the outlet.

Next time, you meet the widest boy – the TD125.

Talk soon,

Your DOWN team.
