A one-ski quiver may be a cliche, but since it's the best way to describe the CountDown Carbon 104, we're sticking with it anyway. We've been refining this design for the last 14 years, and it's getting very close to perfection. From powder to groomed pistes, the CountDown series is set to let you ski how you want, never wondering about the abilities of your skis.
A poplar-ash core is blended with carbon fiber to make the ski not only light but damp. The CD104s 5 point shape combined with our hybrid-rocker-camber profile making the ski easy to use for both skiers new to freeride, comp riders, or anyone that just wants a fun ski.
The ultimate in versatility and smoothness, our freeride rocker profile combines camber underfoot with a low rise, elliptical tip and a relatively flat tail. The underfoot camber gives instant edge grip in tricky conditions and the smooth transition into the tip and tail rocker lets you engage the full effective edge on demand for smooth carving. The low rise, elliptical tip provides full snow contact, punches through uneven snow with minimal deflection and keeps you on top of even the deepest, fluffiest powder.
Having a Freeride World Tour athletes on our ambassador team has it's perks. We've given Mathys Fornasier and Mickaël Bimboes access to our garage of every CD model ever existed. We insisted he should try'em all & give us pointers on what he was stoked about in each.
His shopping list kinda looked like this: strong enough to charge, loose enough to skid and agile enough to spin and stomp. So, here's what our lab did:
