Micka, Mathys & Winteractivity – welcome aboard!
DOWN on a Freeride World Tour (FTW) podium sounds fire, right? Well, actually it’s a true story. Together with Mickael Bimboes, we were there. And with Mathys, we’re looking to take back what’s ours – the top spot of (at least) stop podium, if not the overall one. That’s why we’re as stoked as we can be, to proudly spill the tea: Micka and Mathys are our freshest team members.
So, for those of you not following their FWT prep and event adventures on Micka’s Winter Acitvity YouTube channel, here’s a brief intro of the duo:
DOWN fam, meet the mentor, Mickaël Bimboes …
DOWN holds “Micka” especially close to its heart – he was the one ambassador that paved the way for us to step onto the top step of the podium of the FWT, the biggest & baddest series competition in the world of freeride skiing. Ever since the revival of DOWN, our big goal was to add Mr. Bimboes back to our team & we’re always proud to have him.
After the retirement from a very successful competing career, he focused on his second passion – video production. Ever since, he’s been creating engaging high quality video content, posted to his Winter Acitvity YouTube channel. We highly recommend you to follow his story, as he’s currently trying himself in a new role – due to his extensive freeride experience, he’s mentoring another DOWN ambassador, Mathys Fornasier, a young up-and-coming freeride protégé. With “Micka” by his side, he’s attacking the highest ranks of FWT.

Skiing soon after he started walking, Chamrousse, a tiny ski resort near Grenoble, offered Mathys a great starting point for skills development. Local club, led by freeski enthusiasts, sparked his passion for gnarly lines & wild tricks.
Still very young, Mathys has accumulated tons of freeride skills until now. Both Mathys and Micka spending as much time as possible ripping French terrains all over, it was inevitable the two meet. Excited to see what Mathys can do on his skis, Micka soon encouraged Mathys to take on freeride skiing professionally. The duo started sharing more and more days on the skis & because of the rapid growth of the young skier, competitions were due. Soon after, surprisingly to everyone except Micka the mentor and Mathys the apprentice, he qualified for the FWT.
