It’s Make It or Break It Time at FWT!

This year’s FWT has been everything—wild, loose, and huge—with our ambassador Mathys, a rookie on a stage of this size, choosing “all of the above” with his runs. When you go all in like that, things can only go one of two ways—you either stick it, or you’re in for a rough time. Well, it went sideways a couple of times, but sending gnarly lines with a “full speed ahead” attitude has definitely made him one of the crowd’s favorites.

Georgia, oh Georgia.

Last week in Georgia, Mathys landed an epic backflip and kept up a shredding pace to complete 99% of his run. But oh my, that last 1%—switching to chill mode a couple of seconds too early, the young Frenchman was caught off guard by a compression wave. Screaming his way to the finish, Mathys is fired up and ready to channel his frustration into this next performance.

Fieberbrunn Pro: Time to shine.

With Mathys currently sitting just below the cut line for the Verbier Xtreme, one thing is certain—Mickaël Bimboes, another DOWN team member and our FWT rider's mentor, is preparing the young gun to go all out as soon as he gets the chance. Due to safety concerns, the competition window for the men’s skiing category remains uncertain, with judges expected to evaluate possible options early next week.

Here in Salzburg, the entire DOWN HQ is keeping their fingers crossed. Before bed, we might even say a prayer or two to Ullr, the god of winter and snow. Now you know who that is, so remember the name—you’ll soon find out why. #getmore
